The railway is now closed for winter engineering works.
Our next Open day will be Easter Sunday and Easter Monday 21/22 April 2019.
We are located in the villiage of Thames Ditton in Surrey and our miniature railway is known as the Thames Ditton Miniature Railway. The ground level railway is for the large scale trains. The elevated railway is for the smaller scale trains. We have been running passenger trains on the miniature railway for for over 70 years. We hope you will be able to visit us during the year for a ride on our trains and enjoy the atmosphere of our railway and it's trains.
A Sneek preview for 2019
'James' is a new build which will be ready for the 2019 season. This engine 0-4-2 tank engine was built by one of our members, and has taken 6 years to complete working in his spare time. The model is based on the well know Tinkerbell locomotive design to UK narrow gauge practice.
The locomotive is seen here durining initial trials in December 2018.

Volunteering / Membership
What we do, and why you should consider joining us.
We are a not-for-profit society and the railway is run solely by a group of dedicated volunteers all year. If you have skills that can be put to use then great, if not then don't worry there are plenty of ways to learn. We will be more than happy to teach you skills that will be with you for life. Volunteering gives a unique opportunity to work with like-minded people and make friendships that can last a lifetime.
We are always looking for more volunteers who would like to get involved. Whether you wish to be a Driver, Guard, Platform Duties, Signalman, Engineering or just help with the maintenance, you will be working alongside a friendly group of volunteers sharing the same experience.
