The Railway welcomes 2 new engines this season, both for the ground level railway.Harwin
Harwin is based on Lima locomotive works 2-6-2 design from the USA. The Wato engineering castings were imported from Australia a number of years ago, and construction was started by Bill Knox who had completed the chassis and cylinders. After Bill passed away the part completed locomotive moved to Nick and Graham Taylor who were friends of Bill. Harwin was completed in October 2016. Harwin is pictured at Willowbank Station in October 2016 on one of its first running sessions.

Volunteering / Membership
What we do, why we do it, how we do it and why you should consider joining us.
Over it long history our society has brought together people with a shared interest of railways, engineering. Our purpose is to encourage the creation of a wide range of models and to create a 'community' of members willing and able to help and support each other in the enjoyment of the hobby. We achieve this aim through a variety of activities, meetings, training courses, visits and exhibitions. and by providing a network of skilled and experienced members willing and happy to share their knowledge and enthusiasm.
The Railway is run solely by a group of dedicated volunteers and is open for train rides from Easter till October. Trains run on the the first Sunday of each month. On Bank Holiday weekends we also run the trains on the Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. Our volunteers can often be found working on the railway at other times.
We are always looking for more volunteers who would like to get involved. Whether you wish to be a Driver, Guard, Platform Duties, Signalman, Engineering or just help with the maintenance, you will be working alongside a friendly group of volunteers sharing the same experience.
